We have put together a quick set of answers to some of the questions, you should have in mind when picking your photographer. Your wedding will be one of the most important days in your life and your photographs will be one of the most enduring elements. It is essential that you choose your wedding photographer carefully.

Can you tell us a joke?

Well possibly! Everyone wants a photographer that takes great pictures, not a comedian but it is essential that you also feel at ease and comfortable around your photographer. On your wedding day you will spend as much time with your photographer, as almost any other single guest, so they to help make your day, not ruin it! We have all heard horror stories of the pushy wedding photographer, the one that upset the guest, the rude one and the one that took over the day! So make sure you get on with your photographer as much as you admire their portfolio.

From your very first enquiry, Photography Liverpool will work closely with you, learning what you both want, what makes you laugh and smile, talking to you, not at you, and ensuring we capture the very essence of you and your wedding day.

What's your style?

When looking for your wedding photographer you will undoubtedly come across "buzzwords" such as traditional, candid, reportage & photojournalism, you may even have researched what some of these mean. So which of these are Photography Liverpool? Well the honest answer is Photography Liverpool are none of them!

Each and every wedding is an unique and special event, that is as individual as you are as a couple. Photography Liverpool aims to capture the beauty, emotion, love, fun, glamour, scale and drama of the day, not just snap shots of the day, but to do this we must first know you as a couple, not just clients.

Photography Liverpool shoots every wedding with two photographers, Matthew Fitzpatrick who is the owner and principal photographer of Photography Liverpool & Peter Drought our associate photographer. We both have our own unique and individual style that we then professional blend together to create the perfect collection of memories from your day.

Can we see some of your Photos?

Of course you can Photography Liverpool shoots every wedding with two photographers. We both have our unique and distinctive style of photography and we would be happy to show you a sample of all our work.

Can we see a whole wedding?

As well as our sample images, we have a number of sample wedding albums showing the story from the bride getting ready, through the wedding ceremony and beyond. These are not our "10 best" images but are a duplicates of final wedding albums that we have been given permission to turn into show albums.

Will you be our Wedding Photographer?

Yes Please! As above Photography Liverpool shoots every wedding with two photographers; Matthew Fitzpatrick & Peter Drought. Matthew will be your point of contact from your initially enquiry, on your wedding day and through to hand delivering your album. Be careful however that the photos you are shown are those of the wedding photographer who will be working with you on your day!

How would you describe your approach?

Having two photographers allows Photography Liverpool to be extremely flexible in how we work, Matthew often works up close with a fast 50mm prime, which produce some very intimate shots, Peters work is more hands off and unobtrusive using fast zoom lenses, capturing your guest unaware of the camera lens, but we will discuss what approach suits you and offer advice where you are not sure or we think we can help.

Can you .....?

Each and every wedding is an unique and special event, that is as individual as you are as a couple, so if there is something you want, an element that is extremely important to you, or even a guest you want to make sure we photograph just ask, your wedding is your day and we are there to capture it exactly how you want it!

What do you do if it rains on our day?

Or your camera breaks, or it snows, or...? This list could go on and on. Well this is the UK so the weather is always a challenge, but there is no reason what so ever it should spoil your photographs, in fact some of our favourite photos have been taken indoors. The best option is for us to visit the venue with you prior to your wedding day to look at possible locations, but even if this is not possible Photography Liverpool aim to be at the venue one to two hours before the wedding to come up with plan A, B & C. Both Matthew and Peter use only Cannon cameras bodies, lenses, and Speedlights. A usual wedding kit will consist of approximately 3 x Camera bodies, 4 x Lenses 6 x Memory Cards, 3 x Flashes which is more than enough to shoot a full day with several redundancies in case anything stops working.

The Monastery July 2010 - Amin & Danielle

Friday, July 31st - A Manchester wedding with a difference! Amin and Danielle were looking for something a little more quirky but still retraining a traditional feel

Amin and Danielle tied the knot at The Monastery, Manchester. And although the weather played games all day, between torrential downpours there was some glorious sunshine that allowed us to take full advantage of this fantastic location.

The Monastery were built between 1863 and 1872 by Franciscan monks who had come to Manchester in 1861 to serve the local Catholic community. Designed by Edward Pugin, whose father helped design the houses of Parliament, Gorton Monastery is considered one of his finest masterpieces. It was put on the World Monuments Fund Watch List of 100 Most Endangered Sites in the World in 1997, alongside Pompeii, Macchu Picchu, The Valley of the Kings and the Taj Mahal. This was a milestone that led to the Monastery being recognised internationally for its architectural and spiritual significance and gave rise to the nickname of “Manchester’s Taj Mahal”.

The Monastery is Grade II* listed and in the top 8% of buildings in England.
